Completely rehabbed by CABH in 2000 The Talbot Apartments are located in New Bedford, MA. They are formerly the Historical Waverly Hotel built in 1901, and retains much of it's historical flavor.

They are single room occupancy units (SRO) and offer sober housing for up to twenty-six residents. Each studio apartment has it own kitchen efficiency (including stove, oven, and small fridge) and bathroom. It is a fine example of local and state cooperation in rehabbing a distressed property. CABH works hard to preserve it as a low income housing alternative, and works directly with the New Bedford Housing Authority who screen tenants for the state rental vouchers that are available for roughly two-thirds of the apartments. Talbot's has a large common room area on it's ground floor. Talbot's has a waiting list for residential placement.

Talbot's is a secure facility; all exteriors are locked 24 hours only accesible by tenants pass key. Off street parking is available, as well as a part time property manager and access to all of Catholic Social Services other services if needed. Talbot's is also in a very busy section of New Bedford and their are plenty of convenience stores, laundries, resturants, and gas stations all with in walking distance. Talbot's is also on a SRTA busline, and Walmart, Shaw's, Stop and Shop, and the Dartmouth Mall are all short rides away.
