“THE CALL” (Coordinated Access to Local Links) is an initial point of entry with standardized access, assessment, and a referral process for emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing programs and other services across agencies within the three CoC’s (Continuums of Care) in Bristol County-Homeless Service Providers Network-HSPN) Fall River’s CoC (Homeless Service Providers Coalition-HSPC), and the Greater Bristol County/Attleboro/Taunton coalition to End Homelessness’ CoC (GBCATCH).
1-800-HOMELESS may be reached from any 508 or 774 area code in Bristol county or if there is no telephone available, consumers may go directly to a CSS office. If you find yourself in a housing crisis and need assistance, THE CALL will assist by assessing for emergency shelter and other emergency needs during the immediate crisis, screen for diversion or prevention of a housing instability situation, work with collaborating community partners with referrals to the Permanent Supportive House Programs in each of the CoC’s.
Once received, the referrals are then placed on a centralized waiting list. As vacancies from each PSH program are submitted, the consumer with the highest needs, meets the HUD definition of chronically homeless and meets the eligibility requirements for the vacant program will then be referred to the vacancy. Each consumer must originate from the CoC that the vacancy is located in.
